Attention Foxfield Townhouse Residents Print E-mail

The Board of Directors included a project in the 2015 budget to begin the process of implementing a 5 year repair plan for the asphalt pavement in the streets and parking areas of all the townhouse neighborhoods. This repair plan was established after a professional engineering review of the streets and is being performed to ensure we get the maximum life out of the community’s most expensive asset.

The first and second phases of this work have taken place over the past two years on the streets determined to have been in the worst condition and this year’s Phase III work will take place on the following streets:

Quincy Court
Marian Court
Huntley Court
Gannon Way

Townhouse Street Sweeping Print E-mail

It's that time again to do Townhouse Street Sweeping.  This year we will again perform the sweeping in two steps.  The first step will be to have the landscaping crews blow and sweep all the debris from the corners and parking areas into the main traffic areas.  The second step is to have the sweeper truck drive thru to collect and remove the debris.

Where possible, we ask that all residents remove parked vehicles from the reserved parking spaces while the blowing crews are working.  The crews will be out to blow the debris based on the following schedule:

Welbourne, Oakridge and Morven – Monday, June 12th

Foxfield – Tuesday, June 13th

The sweeper truck be onsite the day following the blowing crews to vacuum the travel portions of the roadways in all townhouse neighborhoods on the following schedule:

Welbourne, Oakridge and Morven – Tuesday, June 13th

Foxfield – Wednesday, June 14th

We ask that all residents try to avoid parking on the parallel curb areas on this day to ensure we can clean all the way to the curb.  The rain date for either sweeper day will be Thursday, June 15th.

We will be posting portable reminder signs in the townhouse areas a few days prior to the schedule date to remind all residents of the sweeping and of any reschedule dates for rain delays.

Let It Snow .... Print E-mail

While the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has more than 1500 employees and pieces of equipment ready in the event of a storm, we hope you remember a few rules for safe driving in snowy weather:

  • Before you get behind the wheel, know the road conditions and weather forecast. For road conditions in Northern Virginia, call 703-383-VDOT (8368). For statewide highway information call the Highway Helpline at 800-367-ROAD.
  • Restrict travel until road crews have had a chance to clear the roads.
  • Keep vehicle windows, mirrors, roofs and lights clear of snow and ice.
  • WEAR YOUR SEAT BELT!
  • Allow extra travel time.
  • Know the road surface. Black ice is invisible and could be present.
  • Be alert to potentially icy areas like shady spots and bridges.
  • Keep a safe distance of at least 5 car lengths behind other vehicles.
  • Stay behind the snowplow: the road BEHIND the snowplow is safer.
  • Never cut between a caravan of snowplows.
  • Keep an emergency winter driving kit in your vehicle.
  • When snow is forecast try not to park on your subdivision street, particularly in a cul-de-sac.
